We are the Junior mythbusters, and we’re trying to see if we can blow up a toilet with sodium and water. Will it work?
P.S. We are currently working on a full version of this clip that is at least 20 minutes long, but we won’t be done for a while.

very true. fun + a good waste of class time.
the reaction result in the board was wrong! its Na + H2O —> NaOH + 2H + Heat + FUN! u forgot fun dude xD
boom by POD. And thanx, its not great quality, and it wasnt an amazing axplosion, but it was alot of fun!
song @ 3:44?
btw this was awesome.
our science teacher was kind enough to get us some from school
Well done, very cool
where did u get the sodium?
they say so, but I dont know how severe it actually is. But because we did this at school, we used rubber gloves just to be safe, even after the explosion when we had to clean up.
How did you pick it up. We were always told that you couldn’t handle it becouse it would burn into your skin.
It’s true, and if the perfect water-sodium ratio was found, this could be one of the many ways to renovate your bathroom. The only problem is that the chance that you get the correct ratio is very slim. But it sure was fun trying!
Great job of documenting!…..High school toilets have been coming off the wall since at least the early 70′s under the same circumstances.
Our school rocks the shit! Haha, way to go… My science class sucks ass.
Ian hepled on the video, srry to leave you out of the credits
it has to be stored in oil so that it doesnt react, it isnt as reactive as some of the other alkaline metals, but it is all we could get our hands on
what was the liquid the sodium was in?
