Take a glass coke bottle, fill it with water, invert it in a bowl. At first water will flow into bowl, but soon an equilibrium will be reached and water will stop flowing into the bowl. Take some water out of the bowl and water will flow in. The check valve lets air out when pumping but doesn’t let air in. Greywater flows into the toilet whenever end of hose extending into toilet tank is exposed upon flushing, and it stops when toilet tank water level rises and covers end of the hose.

Hi there. Nice video. I am trying to get my head around why the water in the top tank does not overflow the water in the toilet tank.

Wow, I need a foot or hand pump like that! Where can I get one? Bucketing out my tub was fun at first, but has quickly lost its novelty.

Also, check out my low-tech grey water system. All you need are buckets! As an added bonus, hauling buckets of water is a great workout! Really hits the glutes. :) I just posted my video.

That’s as silly as simple… I still don’t get why doesn’t people who builds houses implement such technologies directly while building…

Yes, let’s talk. (I’m encouraged by the response; from all over and not just folks like you in Milwaukee. Who knows, we may jog people into saving water in this way

    Hey Carl-
I’m glad that I watched the video demo…that really brought it to life for me. I would like to talk to you more about trying to get this product out there-especially into new homes that are built.

    GREAT idea!

    ~Matt

Great product! Soooo simple, yet amazing to think how much water could be saved if adopted.
